Анотація
У статті досліджено теоретичні основи тіньової економіки у розрізі сучасного світового господарства, а саме визначаються її поняття та складові, узагальнюються та характеризуються підходи до класифікації видів неформальних економічних відносин. Узагальнено причини виникнення та механізми функціонування «сірих» та «чорних» ринків, виділено їх загрози для національних економік та світового господарства в цілому. Автором визначено основні риси тіньової економіки, до яких можна віднести її системність та мобільність, а також наголошено на поширенні тіньових схем між суміжними секторами економічної діяльності – так званий ефект мультиплікатора. Наголошено на необхідності вироблення та застосування урядами країн світу методів боротьби з нелегальною економічною активністю з метою мінімізації негативного впливу тіньової економіки на добробут населення, втрат коштів бюджетами держав та обсягів нелегального переміщення товарів.

DETERMINANTS OF SHADOW ECONOMY IN THE GLOBALIZED WORLD
Summary The article examines the theoretical foundations of the shadow economy in the context of the modern world economy. Despite of non-availability the final and uniform definition of shadow economy in literature, the author determines the concepts and components of shadow economy, summarizes and characterizes approaches to the classification of types of informal economic relations. It is underlined that the shadow economy is in constant motion, characterized by continuous development and changes, and its directions are also adjusted in accordance with changes in national tax and regulatory systems. In this regard, it is also almost impossible to make an accurate estimate of the size of the shadow economy, in particular the illegal flows of international trade. Nevertheless, the causes and mechanisms of functioning of “gray” and “black” markets are summarized, their threats to the economies on the national and global levels are highlighted. The article identifies the main features of the shadow economy, which include its systemic nature and mobility, and emphasizes the spread of shadow schemes between related sectors of economic activity - the so-called multiplier effect. It is pointed out that with the unlimited expansion of the scale, the shadow economy absorbs and begins to control various areas of a completely legal economy and encourages the creation of “gray” and “black” markets. Illegal production, trade in weapons and ammunition, trade in substandard and uncertified goods, abuse of power and authority, which in turn increases the level of corruption and officials involved in the illegal economy. Proceeds from such activities can be used to finance criminal activities and facilitate the introduction of further illegal money laundering schemes. Emphasis is placed on the need for governments to develop and apply methods to combat illegal economic activity in order to minimize the negative impact of the shadow economy on the welfare of the population, loss of funds from state budgets and the volume of illegal movement of goods. Future research should analyze and systematize the possible theoretical and methodological approaches to the informal (shadow) economy at different levels of economic activity in international economic relations.
